Winning at Winstar
Winning may be a bit of a stretch, but we did enjoy a few days parked at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK. This casino is literally, exit #1 over the Oklahoma border. It has a wonderful RV park. You stay the first night free, then the additional nights are $10 a night. There’s a free shuttle to the casino and we enjoyed a huge concrete pull-in sight that was about 90 feet long. It’s amazing what becomes important to us in this “new life” of ours. Wednesday’s and Thursday’s mornings there is a free brunch buffet for those of us that are 50 years and older. My sisters even drove over for mexican food at El Fenix (inside the casino). After Thursday morning buffet, we drove to Davis, OK and then drove east into the Chickasaw National Recreations Center and a wonderful state park. In the park, was the Lincoln Bridge. We had such a good time. Thesisters enjoyed a free room at the hotel.
After they left, David and I went to Oklahoma City where we had lunch in The Market area on the river. We then toured the Oklahoma Memorial; a very moving homage to the people who lost their lives in the Murray Federal building.
